China see over 100 million passenger trips during the Dragon Boat Festival.
More than 100 million passenger trips are expected in China during the next three-day Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, according to industry data on Thursday, pointing to fresh signs of stead recovery in China’s tourism sector.

The average price of a domestic air ticket for the period has fallen by about 30 percent from the May Day holiday, according to TravelGo. The main cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, and Kunming, are the most popular destinations.
Women accounted for 57 percent of booked travel packages, Ctrip data showed. In terms of age, the post-90s generation plans to travel the most during the holiday, making up 39 percent, followed by the post-80s generation at 30 percent.
Hotel bookings had their greatest increase — 800 percent on a yearly basis — and parent-child travel increased 320 percent year-on-year, the report said.
About 43 percent people booked accommodations for two nights and 32 percent booked for one night, followed by three-night bookers, who accounted for 21 percent, according to homestay booking platform Muniao.
Shanghai, Beijing and Hangzhou are the top three destinations for travel during the Dragon Boat Festival, according to Fliggy.
Bookings for photoshoot tours increased 400 percent year-on-year, and car-rental travel increased 860 percent on a yearly basis.
Sanya in South China’s Hainan province, Chengdu in Southwest China’s Sichuan province, and Haikou, capital of Hainan, are the top three destinations for car rental, data from Fliggy showed.
Most travelers prefer middle- to short-distance trips during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which lasts from June 12 to 14.
